Certification Process

Our halal certification process, carried out in accordance with accreditation rules, consists of the following steps.

TAKVA halal certification process

1. Receipt of the application

The request of the organisation seeking certification is received via the application form or the online application form on our website.

2. Review of the application and contract

After the application form is checked and reviewed by TAKVA, the process of evaluating and preparing the offer begins.

3. Sending the prepared offer

Once the application and contract have been reviewed, an offer is prepared and sent to the organisation seeking certification.

4. Mutual approval of the contract

When the offer is signed by both parties it becomes an approved contract and the process starts. Offers can also be approved online through the client portal.

5. Document review

At the start of the process, the applicant's documents, HACCP studies, procedures and manuals are reviewed and preparations are made regarding the content of the audit.

6. Audit planning and execution

After the document review, a suitable and competent audit team is formed, audit dates are set by mutual agreement with the organisation, and the audit is carried out.

7. Evaluation of the certification decision

Once the audit is completed and any nonconformities found have been resolved, the report is sent to TAKVA's certification committee and the certification decision is evaluated by committee members who did not take part in the audit.

8. Issuance of the halal certificate

If nonconformities have been closed and TAKVA's certification committee makes a positive decision, the certificate is issued: halal certification of the audited products is completed and a verifiable halal conformity certificate with a QR code is issued for those products.
